Ten Years old Olentangy School District, Ohio 5th Grader and Author Sean Oni will be operating his own booth and hosting a book signing, along his 12 years old senior brother and Author Davis Oni and Mother Titi Oni at the 2024 New Americans Book Fair on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at the Columbus Metropolitan Library, Karl Road branch.
Author of The Tiny Cool Pencil, Sean Oni who is described as imaginative and whose favorite subject is mathematics “likes to do crafts before watching television.”
In “The Tiny Cool Pencil”, the readers must find out what happened to Pencil during his 8th birthday.
Leading Sean to the annual book fair is elder brother 12 years old Author Davis Oni.
The author of “Adventures of Jéjé,” is the oldest of three children and was inspired to write his first series of Adventures of Jéjé after reading African-themed stories from “Rubies Africa,” an app his mom created for short African stories.
Davis is creative and loves adventures, so he decided to use his writing skills to take his readers on a journey filled with thrills and action. When Davis is not writing, he is playing basketball or video games with his brothers and friends.
Also, coming with Sean and Davis is their mother Titi Oni, the creator of Rubies Africa, an app designed to preserve and expose people to African folktales, concepts, languages, traditions and histories through beautifully illustrated short African stories and poems using sustainable technology.
“I created an app named “Rubies Africa” which comprises over 40 e-books in English, French, Spanish including indigenous African languages – Swahili, Yoruba, Igbo and more. Through this project, I also empower African authors, illustrators, graphic designers and voice over artists. The “Rubies Africa” app is available for download on both App Store and Play Store,” Titi Oni, Founder Rubies Africa told the NABF.
The Annual New Americans Book Fair is free to the public.
