Najma Shamsi is the author of Jasmine and Journeys: The Life Quest of a South Asian Woman, from which she will read excerpts to guests at the New Americans Book Fair on Saturday, October 8, 2022, at the Columbus Metropolitan Library, 5590 Karl Road, Columbus, Ohio beginning at 12pm.

She will sign copies of Jasmine and Journeys: The Life Quest of a South Asian Woman.

Jasmine and Journeys: The Life Quest of a South Asian Woman, non-fiction/creative non-fiction is a social, cultural, and political history of the Indian sub-continent of South Asia, from the time of Independence from the British to the present. It’s the story of the many migrations of one community and the author’s own family.

This adventurous, readable book by Najma Shamsi is about numerous levels of travel, consecutive as well as simultaneous, physical is also cerebral, material, and spiritual, distressing, and joyful.

Najma Shamsi, American citizen, is a retired teacher, who studied English Literature/Political Science at University of the Punjab and migrated to the United States of America in 2016. She has worked in Pakistan and Canada and owned a school.
