The New Americans Magazine and the New American Community Information Center, with the partnership of the Columbus Metropolitan Library, Karl Road branch will be hosting a maiden New Americans Book Fair to showcase the written works of new Americans, immigrants, refugees, and other related organizations and individuals in the community on Saturday, October 8, 2022, between 12 pm and 5 pm.
Participants at the Book Fair include published and unpublished authors, writers, publishing organizations, students, and other related agencies and individuals.
“The new American, with the immigrant community, has produced many authors of books, writers, and publishers that are positively impacting the community in knowledge, education, and several activities,” said Deba Uwadiae, Publisher of New Americans magazine.
“They need and deserve an avenue such as the New Americans Book Fair to display their works, and attract the necessary publicity, encouragement, recognition, and support.”
“We look forward to a book festival,” said Bertha Obayuwana, Co-Chair, Organizing Committee.
Speakers at the Book Fair are expected from the city council, educational institutions, publishers, agents, and writer’s clubs.
Other members of the Organizing Committee include Ernest Kanjo, Taiwo Akinlami, Imran Malik, Tayo Oresotu, Ram Uprati, and Malik Wayne Moore.
