  • At the Heart of the Book Fair: Community, Culture, and Women’s Strength1

The recent New Americans Book Fair on Saturday, September 20, 2025, was more than an event, it was a gathering of voices, cultures, and stories that reminded me why I write. My daughters volunteered, earning certificates of appreciation, and my family’s presence was felt in every corner.

Positioned just before the stage, my table became a welcoming stop for visitors. People came to the venue in groups, sometimes three at a time, sometimes more. I realized I hadn’t just brought books; I had brought a community.

Women’s Strength Unveiled resonated deeply with women from every background. By focusing on childbirth and daily, often unseen strength, rather than only leadership, I created an immediate connection.

Reading excerpts aloud, I shared personal moments from the delivery room, and the response was powerful. One listener said, “You gave voice to what we live, but rarely speak about.”

With a reader holding Women’s Strength Unveiled, sharing the message of empowerment and cultural wisdom The fair opened new doors. Publishers stopped to learn about The Red Hat of Knowledge, and fellow authors shared encouragement, signed books, and recognized kinship in our stories of resilience and purpose.

The New Americans Magazine recorded my reading and highlighted it, noting my Malian roots and storytelling journey. Their words stayed with me: “You were so outstanding with the community that you brought to the book fair.”

Reflecting on the day, I see the Book Fair not just as an achievement, but as a reminder: books are bridges, between cultures, generations, and lived experiences and shared wisdom.

Turning personal moments into universal lessons I write and speak about women’s strengths where culture and personal experience meet.

As a man from West Africa who witnessed childbirth for the first time in the U.S., I share stories that reveal women’s resilience in ways often unseen but deeply felt. In my home region, women going into labor is private, men are not allowed near the delivery room. But in America, I was invited to stand beside my wife, to witness what I had only imagined before.

That moment changed me. What I saw was not only pain, but power, strength wrapped in patience, resilience rising out of agony, and love that erased suffering in an instant.

My book Women’s Strength Unveiled turns these personal moments into universal lessons. It bridges tradition, science, and empowerment, showing that women’s strength is not defined only by survival or leadership, but by the unseen endurance that gives life to us all.

Women’s Strength Unveiled is available now, offering readers a journey that bridges cultures and celebrates resilience.
