I am specifically into World War II. This topic is interesting to me because I read a lot of historical fiction books ranging from authors like Alan Gratz, Jennifer A. Nielsen and Lauren Tarshis.
I would probably set my setting somewhere in Europe since I read a lot about that region. Now usually the story is about a family trying to survive in these harsh conditions. But if I wrote a book, I needed to be more unique, so I thought, “How would it be to write a book about a family who is related to a dictator or someone with a lot of power at the time?”
It would be an interesting perspective considering there are not many books regarding this topic. Who knows, maybe these families may not be that privileged after all. I would add intense dramatic and fun twists.
Speaking of fun, reading historical fiction will always be a genre where you can come to where the plots are fake, but the message is true. This is a topic that I think most people will like because it’s a little bit of other genres.
For example, historical fiction is based on real events, which makes it a little bit non-fiction, and the characters are fantasy, which also makes it a little bit of fiction.
So, whether you’re into fiction, non-fiction or even both, this would be a good thing to read. I believe this would create a fresh perspective for readers of all ages.
